Adam has an MBA from the Ross School of Business and a Master’s degree in chemical engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden.
Dr. Roy Kamimura

Roy is a true Renaissance man and has a natural scientific curiosity and out-of-the-box thinking ability. He brings extensive experience in data analytics, machine learning, NLP-AI, and synthetic biology, all of which are critical to our gut microbiome innovation strategy. Roy has worked in technology exploration, development planning, and commercialization roles at national laboratories and at several biotech startups.
Roy received a PhD in chemical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Al Zimmerman
Chief Commercial Officer
With 15+ years experience in nutritional health for human, companion animal, and livestock, Al Zimmerman brings a wealth of commercial and product experience in the probiotic space.
He established and led the Dietary Supplement Finished Format Business at DuPont (now IFF). During his tenure at DuPont, which was focused on developing probiotics for humans and animals, he oversaw the development of the probiotic manufacturing platform within the US and the finished format manufacturing platform globally.
Dr. Genevieve Vidanes
VP, Research Biology
Genevieve is passionate about developing and enabling biological tools for a more sustainable lifestyle and planet. Focused on early tech development, her expertise is in cell, molecular and synthetic biology. Genevieve brings experience in building and leading technical teams to meet scientific rigors and execute corporate goals of small startups and larger corporate organizations.
Genevieve received a PhD in Cell Biology from the University of California San Francisco.
Dr. Erik Holtzapple

Erik has an extensive foundation in strain and metabolic engineering, steering novel microbial chassis into commercial products. Over his 20-year career, he has contributed his biotechnology proficiency in biochemistry, genetic engineering, and microbiology. Erik received his PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Minnesota.
