Bacterissima™ is an engineered probiotic platform for in-situ conversion of excess sugar in the Western Pattern Diet (WPD) to key functional nutrients, such as omega-3 fatty acids, which are critically missing in WPD. 40% of Americans don’t get sufficient key functional nutrients that are critical for mental and physical health through food or supplements. Our vision is to introduce engineered probiotics as a tool to intercept and channel some harmful aspects of the foods that people already eat, such as excess sugars and fats, into beneficial nutrients, improving health without the need to drastically change diets.
